Welcome to Rustington Cricket Club

Rustington cricket club is a small well established friendly village club on the Sussex coast, with amazing bar facilities, a good pitch and a great team ethic.

The cricket club was established in 1892 and celebrated its centenary in 1992 by playing a Sussex CCC squad, which included Ian Salisbury in his debut year for England.

The club started league cricket in 1979 and continues today with 3 Saturday league teams in the Sussex Cricket League and a Sunday friendly team.

Rustington cricket club is also promoting a juniors section where all juniors are welcome from all abilities and age groups.

We have a state of the art outdoor twin lane net facility funded by the club providing all weather training.

The club has achieved the ECB's clubmark status, meaning we are a safe club to play for, and we follow the strict guidelines on kids coaching.

SLAM RESULTThis week our Slam team travelled to Lancing for our first ever t20 game. We were sent out to field, restricting Lancing to 135/7 in their 20 overs with strong opening spells from both Matthew and Freddie. Which was then followed up by Danny Palmer, who too, had a good spell. This great start allowed Shay and Mangold to restrict the Lancing batters in the latter overs, with the pair taking 3 wickets between them. Throughout the game there was a great effort by the whole team in the field, including some impressive catches and stops on the boundary.We got off to a bit of a difficult start in our batting with both openers being dismissed early on. However, Mangold and James steadied the innings for us, allowing Blake, Shay and Matthew to all follow up with the bat; Shay top scored and retired on 32*, being supported by a classy 22 off 14 from Matthew. Unfortunately we just fell short in the end, losing by a single run. For our first ever game in the Slam, there were many positives to take, with all players contributing; whether in the field, bowling or batting. That's the pre-season done!There was only one game this weekend, with the second XI away to Felbridge and Sunnyside CC. Rustington won by 167 runs where Aiden and Callum shone with the bat scoring 97 and 48 respectively, whilst Shay and Freddie scored 27* and 15* in rather quick fashion to see out the innings.The fielding innings went well with early aggression from Freddie, Ron keeping well on a very difficult track, and some great catches being taken in the field.
