Welcome to Rustington Cricket Club

Rustington cricket club is a small well established friendly village club on the Sussex coast, with amazing bar facilities, a good pitch and a great team ethic.

The cricket club was established in 1892 and celebrated its centenary in 1992 by playing a Sussex CCC squad, which included Ian Salisbury in his debut year for England.

The club started league cricket in 1979 and continues today with 3 Saturday league teams in the Sussex Cricket League and a Sunday friendly team.

Rustington cricket club is also promoting a juniors section where all juniors are welcome from all abilities and age groups.

We have a state of the art outdoor twin lane net facility funded by the club providing all weather training.

The club has achieved the ECB's clubmark status, meaning we are a safe club to play for, and we follow the strict guidelines on kids coaching.

U13 match report vs Eastergate. Wow, what a match! We finally won an indoor game this season but did it on the last ball of the game. We posted our first score of over 100 this season with 110/2 which we thought was a good score. We had a 25 not out from Jess who had to retire which started us off beautifully. Jack scored a 6 at the top of the order and made life difficult for the bowlers. After he was out, Belle (who is renowned for her defensive capabilities 😂) went and stayed there until the end of the innings and scored 14 not out as well as some intelligent running. Everyone who batted scored runs and we didn’t have any ducks this week! On to the fielding and we were put under pressure immediately with Eastergate keeping up and being ahead of the required run rate. Then some tight bowling from our bowlers and retirements from the batting team slowed down the run rate. We managed a wicket in the 8th and in the penultimate over got a very good run out. The last over was thrilling and exciting and went to the last ball. Needing 6 to tie or 7 to win, we kept our nerve and bowled a legal delivery but it was hit with power and pace towards the boundary for 6 until a foot appeared and stopped the ball (which I don’t condone but will let it slide this time!) and they only managed 2 runs, meaning we won by 4 runs 😮‍💨 A great game in which both teams were evenly matched and exciting to watch! 🏏🏏#eastergatecricketclub #colts #indoorcricket #rustington #rustingtoncc #futureoftheclub #sussex ... Our U13 team lost to a very organised and good bowling outfit in Worthing. Having lost the toss we were put in to bat and made slow progress. We lost our opener in the first over and then the following over we lost our other opener who was run out but doing the right thing by backing up at the non strikers end! We then slowly built our way up to 52/2 with Jess retiring on 20 and Lily scoring a positive 5 not out. Chasing 53, we got a wicket in the first over but Worthing managed to steady the ship and knock off the runs on under 5 overs. Might not sound like it but there were positives today, everyone had a bowl, Tommy got his wicket, Jess retired, Lily was not out, we bowled dot balls and all throughout we smiled and enjoyed ourselves. The indoor bandwagon continues in 2 weeks time against Eastergate A. #IndoorCricket #Colts #rustington #rustingtoncc #FutureOfTheClub ... See MoreSee Less
